PREREQUISITE:

Candidates must meet the following course requirements so as to facilitate maximum learning absorption of the lectures presented:

  • Candidate must have knowledge of IP addressing and sub-netting, ideally earned during at least one year of experience working in networking or network support
  • If the candidate does not possess such relevant experience, then he or she is recommended to complete the A+ Network+ certifications before attempting this course.
  • Candidate must have a basic understanding of computer systems and network technologies.

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) validates the ability to install, execute and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, as it includes basic network security. By earning a CCENT, network professional displays the skills required for entry-level network support job roles – the entry point for many successful careers in networking. MITS provide participants with an enriched learning experience through our comprehensive curriculum. The curriculum encompasses all CCENT scope, including networking fundamentals, WAN technologies, basic security and wireless concepts, routing and switching fundamentals, and configuring simple networks. CCENT is the primary step toward achieving CCNA, which covers medium-size enterprise branch networks with more complicated connections.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

Having a CCENT will validate the participant’s ability to operate Cisco networks. By finishing this coursework, participants will be able to expand their knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage and optimize network systems. Moreover, they will be able to:

  • Understand network concepts, principles, tools, strategies and techniques
  • Configure, verify and troubleshoot a switch with VLANs and inter switch communications
  • Establish an IP addressing scheme and IP services to address network requirements
  • Configure, verify and troubleshoot basic router operation and routing on Cisco devices
  • Interpret and select the appropriate administrative tasks requires for a WLAN
  • Determine and detect security threats to a network and plan methods to eliminate those threats
